Want to make mono sounds stereo? Need a chorus that sounds larger than life?
Welcome to GMaudio Universe! The Binaural Modulator...

This device duplicates the signal between 2 to 16 times and uses up to 64 LFOs to modulate concepts of sound localisation such as phase, time, pitch and panning to create a lively chorus effect unlike anything else.

It uses the new *mc.objects in Max 8 and can even be used in Mono mode with 2 voices (with Dry Vol all the way down and Wet Vol all the way up) to turn any mono input into a signal that moves around your brain! Originally this device could generate up to 24 voices but the CPU usage was too high so total number of voices were limited to 16. You could think of this as an advanced Unison effect you might find on a synthesizer that you can apply to any sound, instantly turning any sound into an ensemble of instruments.

To make this effect even more useable, a High Pass Filter is applied to the input signal to avoid any phase issues at low frequencies and an Enhance parameter allows you to dial in even more width when listening in stereo, which cancels out in mono. The visualisation in the background shows the values of the LFOs modulating the phase of the frequency spectrum for half of the voices, helping you connect to what the effect is doing.

Its perfect for mono recordings like analog synths or vocals as well as modern synth sounds such as basses and leads. I've used it in a number of projects now and it always adds a dimension and life to sounds no matter the input... I know you will enjoy exploring it.

*Note - This device requires Ableton Live Suite 10.1 or higher
