FS BandSplit 1.0 (NEW)

Have you ever wanted to split a process into multiple bands, and then run that in parallel? Guess what... Now you can! FS BandSplit features a unique, mastering-grade crossover with an Inter-Device Communication system, so that you can build the Audio Effect Racks of your dreams. πŸŒ₯️

🚧 The Problem: Existing multi-band implementations in Live use what many would consider industry standard Linkwitz-Riley crossovers. The problem with this design is that there is always phase shift in the result, meaning that if you have any signal chains parallel to this processing, destructive interference (cancellations) will occur. All of Fixation Studios & GMaudio products avoid this design for this reason, because in modern music production we like to be able to apply processing in layers and mix these however we like, without constraint.

βœ… The Solution: FS BandSplit has a unique crossover design that avoids this and combines it with a communication system that allows two instances to share information. By grouping a default instance of FS BandSplit with its role set to 'artist', duplicating the chain, setting the second instance to 'follower' and clicking pair, the two instances will be linked, sharing the same cutoff and each selecting their own band. This allows you to make complex audio effect chains, that never existed, with ease.

Features;

  • Perfect Reconstruction, 3rd-order 'Virtual Analog' Crossover
  • Inter-Device Communication, so two instances work in unison
  • Lowpass/Highpass pairings to make novel audio effect racks
  • Info View Text, 5ms latency

I will have some examples & relevant educational content soon, but for now there is a brief User Manual in the Content Area. Feel free to jump into our Discord if you have any questions, or reply to your receipt and I'll be more than happy to help.

This device is 'Pay-What-You-Want' and a great way to add multi-band functionality to Clipper or Ducker. I can't wait to see what people will create with this one-of-a-kind tool >> Grab it Now! Thank you for your support and Happy Music Making 🀘😁🀘

Note: This devices works with Live 11 or 12 Suite, or Standard with the Max For Live add-on. It will work on Push (including standalone) but pairings can not be created/modified from Push, meaning that you can transfer a Live Set to Push Standalone and your existing pairings will persist.

At Fixation Studios we like to break norms and set new precedents. 2026's holiday freebie (or Pay-What-You-Want) is a device that required significant research and development to make a reality.

The crossover is a brand new design, unique for many reasons. It is comprised of a 3rd order Bessel Lowpass filter realized via Virtual Analog topology with fractional delay compensation to create a perfect reconstruction, complementary Highpass filter... What this means in practice is an almost symmetrical HP/LP pair that when summed, is completely linear phase allowing for parallel processing, which is rare for a filter of this slope/order.

The IDC (Inter-Device Communication) Framework was developed so that any two instances of a device could create a pair and share information, as well as save/load these pairings with your Live Set. FS BandSplit exists as a simple example of how to implement this framework, which will soon be available to other developers.

Let me know if your interested in either of these technical endeavors and I will write a blog post on my new website when its up and running. πŸ€“
